What is MyTutor from EnglishScore?

MyTutor is an e-learning platform where you can get help learning English as a second language. It has details of Tutors who might be able to assist you. You must decide which Tutor is suitable for you. MyTutor sessions use online video-conferencing for Tutoring.

Who can use MyTutor from EnglishScore?

You can use MyTutor from EnglishScore if you are over eighteen (18) years of age and you follow the rules for using EnglishScore. 

We may refuse your access to MyTutor, or terminate your EnglishScore account for any reason and at any time. If we do, we will give you a refund for any outstanding sessions. If you have purchased a pack, we will charge the price of a single session for any you have used before refunding.

What equipment do you need to use MyTutor from EnglishScore?

You need a good internet connection with camera, microphone and speaker. You can use a computer or Android device with Google Chrome.

How do you buy sessions?

To buy a session you must first buy tokens for MyTutor from EnglishScore.  Payment can only be made through credit, pre-paid and debit cards or Paypal. The price includes VAT.  You can choose the currency for your payment. The exchange rate is approximate and is set by us.

Unused tokens will expire (end) after 6 months.

Once you have bought a token, you can book a session. If a Tutor is available, you may be able to start a session within a few minutes. We allow the Tutor 8 minutes to get ready to start your session. Otherwise, you will need to choose a future session time.

What if you change your mind?

You can ask us for a refund. You can do this at any time before your first session or within 14 days of paying, whichever comes first.

What information does EnglishScore collect? Are the sessions recorded?

We sometimes record sessions for monitoring and training purposes. We use data for lots of different reasons. You can control how we use your data. The full list is in our Privacy Policy (https://www.englishscore.com/terms-privacy-policy).

What can we do in the session?

The sessions aim to improve your English. The Tutor will only provide advice, recommendations or help to improve your English and for no other purpose.  

You must not share personal information (such as your full name, phone number, address, email, social media name or details of any school or organisation you belong to) with the Tutor.

Can you cancel or reschedule?

You must be ready for your scheduled session. If you need to, you can cancel up to 6 hours before the session. If you need to cancel and it is less than 6 hours before your session, you must email mytutor@englishscore.com and tell us about the problem. We will speak to the Tutor and arrange another session if needed. We can only give a refund if you tell us before your session.

If you miss three (3) sessions without telling us in advance, we may terminate your account.

What if the tutor is unavailable?

If the Tutor does not come to your session, you will get another session for free (if you agree), or you will get a full refund.  If your Tutor needs to cancel, we will try to tell you 6 hours before your session.

We cannot guarantee the continued availability of any Tutor and accept no responsibility or liability for the withdrawal, removal or unavailability of the same.

What if the session starts late?

Our sessions are 30 minutes long. There is a fixed start and end time for each session. You must be ready to start on time.

What if you don’t feel safe?

Your safety is very important to us. You must be in a safe and appropriate place for the session.. You and the tutor must behave properly and lawfully. If you or the tutor do not feel safe, then stop the session and send us an email mytutor@englishscore.com. We will investigate. We may issue a refund. We may need to report this to the appropriate organisation.

Your session wasn’t good. What should you do?

If you are unhappy with any session, you must tell us within forty-eight (48) hours of the end of the session. Please email mytutor@englishscore.com. We will investigate. We may issue a refund. Our decision is final and binding.

We accept no liability for any loss, damage, cost, expenses or other claims for compensation arising from the introduction of a Tutor to you. Nor do we accept liability for the failure of the Tutor to meet your requirements.
